The F. Matthias Alexander Trust
Bringing the Alexander Technique to a wider public

The F. Matthias Alexander Trust is a registered charity which was established in 1991 in order to advance the education of the general public in the Alexander Technique and to promote research and study into all aspects of the Technique. The Trust is affiliated to the Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique (STAT)
  • The Alexander Technique is a method of mental and physical re-education, taught individually, which has the effect of reducing unnecessary tension in all human activity.
  • The Technique is concerned with thinking, balance and ease of movement in all activity throughout our daily lives, either at work or at play. From childhood to old age, those who practise it learn how to use themselves to best advantage.
  • It is widely recognised as an effective means of alleviating or preventing back problems and many other disorders.
